World Cancer Day ’16

On the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4th February 2016, Medica Superspecialty Hospital organized an event to spread awareness about cancer, how best it can be prevented and to recognize the fight and win of some its cancer survivors over the killer disease.

The programme started with Dr. Tapti Sen, Sr. Breast Disease Specialist & Surgeon, Head – Medica Institute of Breast Diseases inaugurating the event. She spoke about breast cancer, its scenario in India, how it can be prevented and about her patients, the survivors who were present for the occasion to share their respective stories. Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Head – Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences & Vice Chairman, Medica, congratulated the Breast Disease Institute for being the only institute of its kind in the country, applauding their efforts and the remarkable trajectory that they have journeyed so far. Dr. Roy, Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals, addressed the gathering and promised to make the breast disease and the breast cancer wing one of the best in the country with the most advanced technologies for superior treatment and patient care.

The survivors present for the occasion included women from various walks of life starting from young actresses to elderly housewives and the event ended on a very emotional, yet positive note with many of them sharing their success stories with the gathering.
