Airway Workshop – ISAJAC, 2010
Medica Superspecialty Hospital’s department of Anaesthesiology and Critical care services
organised a high quality workshop on Basic and Advance Airway for the Indian Society of
Anaesthesia’s twentieth zonal conference (ISAJAC, 2010) on the October 3, 2010. It was held at
the hospital’s conference hall.
The workshop was subdivided into five modules comprising of basic airway devices, basics of
ventilation, airway ultrasound, percutaneous tracheostomy, cricothyroidectomy, supraglottic
airway devices and difficult airway aids.
Every module comprised high quality tutorial imparted by eminent in-house and guest faculty.
Extensive hands-on training was provided to the participants from all over eastern region on
advance mannequin and rare advance airway devices.
The workshop concluded with an interesting, brain teasing quiz session and the winners were
handsomely rewarded with books and audio visual aids from Karl Stroz difficult airway aids. The
success of the workshop was the result of the combined herculean effort of the coordinators -
Dr. Abhijit Paul (HOD Anaesthesia Services) and Dr Arindam Kar (HOD Critical Care).
